I was invited by my friends JK and William for a session and mentoring AI Hack Day’s participants. Due to Covid-19 turmoil, this in-person event was then moved to online and it became my first ever online event.
We did a small test one day before the event with Zoom and then next day, it was all very well organized and ran a good show.
I gave a brief session on building the bots from the scratch so that the attendees can easily grab the idea and build their own bots for Hackathon. Almost everyone was from Australia (mostly from Brisbane) so it was not very unique in terms of audience but definitely a different experience where you do not see anyone sitting in front of you and you have to deliver a talk. I liked it!
Here are some of my key takeaways after our retro:
- Use appropriate fonts
- Your slide should not be cluttered with so many images / text
- Do not rush while showing a demo – if you are moving cursor, be gentle and slow 😊
- Always ready to answer good amount of questions from the audience
