From a Client Conversation to a Working Demo: GitHub Dev Days Sydney

15 Oct 2026

I spoke at GitHub Dev Days Sydney about Demo Studio: taking a client brief, building a working demo with GitHub Copilot, and revising it as the conversation continues.

I spoke at GitHub Dev Days Sydney on 15 October 2026 at Microsoft's North Sydney office. My session, From a Client Conversation to a Working Demo, explored how we can give someone an app to try while we're still discussing the problem they want to solve.

I shared Demo Studio, which brings together a client brief, GitHub Copilot and a working preview. The talk followed a passenger-information concept using sample data: choosing a station, comparing departures and making a platform change clear. That gave us a concrete way to discuss building the first version and revising it as requirements change.

The session also covered the pieces behind the experience: the GitHub Copilot SDK through Microsoft Agent Framework, a conversation coordinator, background build jobs and version recovery. Demo Studio keeps the working version on screen while the next revision is being built. TypeScript and build checks run before a new version is published, with browser checks still needed to verify the actual user journeys.
