I joined students at UNSW for a guest lecture on Building with AI Agents. We explored what makes an AI agent different from a traditional chatbot, then went deep into GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex through practical demonstrations of how students can take an idea and build something real with coding agents.
We also stepped back to discuss the future of software engineering: how the developer's role is evolving from writing every line by hand to framing problems clearly, giving agents the right context, reviewing their work and taking responsibility for what ships.

I joined students at UNSW for a guest lecture on building with AI agents. We explored what makes agents different from traditional chatbots, went deep into GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex, and worked through how students can turn an idea into something real with coding agents. We also discussed how these tools are reshaping software engineering and the skills developers will need for the future.
